Blissful tide of Ramadan

Bliss of Ramadan Although our aim aim is to see the sun sending shimmering beam of light to ease the gloom of darkness, and cluster beauty to nature. Today marks the first day in the holiest month in the Islamic calendar — I'm excited, Alhamdulilah. The month of Ramadan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur'an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights [the new moon of] the month, let him fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey - then an equal number of other days. Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship and [wants] for you to complete the period and to glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and perhaps you will be grateful...  Al Baqarah 2: 185 However, Ramadan is the most sacred month for Muslims with fasting — one of the most important and productive worship that can not be blemished with hypocrisy. This glorious month attributed by supplication and spiritual elevation th

GBÓHÙNMI Episode 1 My father (Evangelist Rotimi) set out of the house, hoping to read one or two dailies before proceeding to a family function. Ifeoluwa (my younger brother) was running fast hoping to catch up with him, Dad you forgot to wear the shoe you polished he said breathing heavily. Lo and behold he looked down, he was barefooted. Everyone at the newspaper stand burst into laughter as Ifeoluwa handed my Dad the shoe. Evangelist was teased for been use to walking barefooted all the time even when he is not putting on white garment. The following morning was a Sunday, we woke up early for church, we held different services and meetings afterwards. In the end we returned home for a good rest after which we had a family meeting later in the evening. The Autarch by LAWAL Sultan

The Autarch They ask us to give back to the society, We should groom the next warlords, Training those who will put us out of business, Should we invest in something that will be our nightmare? Oh! You can now afford to wear agbada, People now see me as agbaya, It is you against me on the ballot, You now throw shades at the hand that once fed you. Our days in power are numbered, Nothing in life is permanent, Power is indeed transient, The exist door is there to be utilized. What ever has a start must one day end, It's left for one to land safely or crash-land, A good life is not about wealth amassing, A fulfilled life is one that has positive impacts on others. What we the masses seek is our right, Our leaders mix rights with privilege and make it scares, If our today is shaky don't kill our future, Our reality is bitter don't soil our dreams. ✍🏾 Sultan Babatunde LAWAL E-mail: FB: Lawal Sultan M

SAY NO TO SUBSTANCE ABUSE Peer pressure make you a Desperado, You become hungry for cracks and Colorado, The implitation will make you present yet incommunicado, A clap will sound just like zanku or eminado. You can't do without being high, No one might come to your aid when it boomerangs, We all don't want to associate with a mentally derailed fellow, Desist from all acts that can truncate your bright future. Oja Daddy and Mummy our Royal Highness, The Lord of mixing and rolling, You've been blinded by vibes and grooves, Have you ever taken time to examine the pains and gains. May we not die before our time, Shun the act in your best interest, Your aspirations should come before anything, Mental disorder is becoming voguish. We all have a part to play, The fight is everyone's business, A drug free society is achievable, Let's put an end to this dream killer. ✍🏾 Sultan Babatunde LAWAL E-mail: FB: Lawal Sultan
